개요
지속적인 혈당 정상화가 가능한 선천성 고인슐린혈증 치료 옵션
에페거글루카곤은 글루카곤 유사체가 인간 면역글로불린의 불변부위와 화학적으로 결합되어 있는 지속형 글루카곤 수용체 작용제입니다.

개선된 물리화학 및 약동학적 특성, 그리고 글루카곤 수용체 작용제의 주요 생리학적 효과 (글리코겐 분해 및 포도당 합성 증가)를 바탕으로 에페거글루카곤은 선천성 고인슐린혈증(CHI) 및 비만 수술 후 저혈당증(PBH)과 같은 만성 저혈당 질환 치료제로 개발이 가능합니다. 에페거글루카곤은 미국 FDA, EMA, MFDS로부터 선천성 고인슐린혈증 치료에 대한 희귀의약품 지정을 받았으며, 미국 FDA에서는 소아 희귀질환 치료제로도 지정되었습니다. 또한 EMA는 HM15136을 인슐린 자가면역증후군 치료에 대한 희귀의약품으로도 지정하였습니다.

또한 글루카곤 수용체 작용은 에너지 소비 증가 및 다양한 심장 대사 위험인자의 개선과도 관련이 있습니다. 비임상 연구에서 에페거글루카곤의 지질 프로파일, 신장 기능 및 혈압 개선과 함께 현저한 체중 감소 효과가 관찰된 바 있습니다.
